About the role:

The University Hospitality Department provides catering to students, staff and external customers throughout the academic year and during the summer months. There are numerous outlets run by the Hospitality Department offering a range of food and drink options.

We’re currently recruiting three Food & Beverage Assistants to join our team in Food Direct, our dedicated hospitality delivery service. This is a physical and, at times, fast-paced role that involves preparing, delivering, and setting up catering orders across campus. You’ll also collect and return equipment and supplies to the Food Direct base. Occasionally, you’ll support events by serving food and drink.

While Food Direct will be your primary area, you’ll also work across other west hospitality food outlets, where you’ll take customer orders, operate tills, prepare and serve food and drink, restock stations, and help maintain clean and tidy catering areas.

The role includes early morning, evening and weekend working on a 5 out of 7 days per week contract (25 hours per week). The weekly shift pattern consists of straight shifts only, no split shifts.

About you:

The successful candidate will have experience of providing an excellent standard of customer service in a customer focussed environment. Previous experience of working in the Hospitality industry would be an advantage. You should be a good team worker and be able to be calm and professional in high pressure situations, as it can be extremely busy during peak times.

As CRF Coordinator, you’ll be at the heart of a dynamic and ambitious team, working closely with the Head of Core Research Facility Operations, the Director of Research Infrastructure & Facilities (RIF), Faculty Finance teams and colleagues across the University. You will help deliver a sustainable research infrastructure that accelerates the University’s research strategy.

You’ll take the lead on a wide range of exciting and essential activities, including:

  • Operations & Finance – Oversee facility booking systems and support financial processes.
